The first CaribLit Residential Writing Programme gets underway in Grand Riviere, Trinidad, Sept 9 – 12. Fifteen writers will join CaribLIt members Monique Roffey and Kei Miler for an Arvon-style, four-day residential workshop. The selected writers are working towards publication, in both poetry and prose. The four days will be designed as a full immersion into the process of writing. Morning sessions will be comprised of MA-standard, open, critical workshops. Afternoons will include one-on-one tutorials with the tutors. There will be a guest reader and evening readings by students, as well as time for walking and meditation. There will also be lots of time to write. Writers will spend four days and four nights at The Mount Plasir Hotel in Grand Riviere on the north coast of Trinidad. The cost for 4 nights’ room and board will be $TT2, 300.00. Tuition is FREE.
