The Caribbean Literature Action Group (CALAG) is a working group of Caribbean writers, publishers, academics, festival coordinators and other persons from the literary sphere, with a shared interest in promoting Caribbean writing and publishing. The Caribbean Literature Action Group meeting in April 2012 was convened by the NGC BOCAS Lit Fest and supported by the Commonwealth Foundation and the British Council. The CALAG initiative has continued with support from all three partners.
CALAG refers to the action group and its members, while all public initiatives of the project use the CaribLit brand.
The CaribLit website serves as a central resource for writers and publishers to gain information on publishing, marketing, distribution and bookselling in the Caribbean and to share their expertise and best practices. We know that many other websites exist through which writers promote their work to readers; rather than compete with those, CaribLit will focus on providing information and resources relevant for persons within the Caribbean publishing industry.
